Choosing a package size: The bedroom counts above reflect a typical, reasonably furnished home. If you've accumulated more than most — a finished basement, a packed garage, a home office with floor-to-ceiling shelving — size up. You pay the same delivery either way, and having a few extra totes in reserve is far less stressful than realizing on moving day that you're short. If you're between two packages and genuinely unsure, the larger one is almost always the right call.

What exactly comes with the rental?

Commercial-grade plastic totes with attached flip lids — not cardboard, not flimsy consumer bins. Free delivery to your current address before your move, and free pickup from your new address after. The price you see is the price you pay. Nothing is added at checkout.

Where do you deliver in Indianapolis?

Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, Zionsville, and Whitestown in Hamilton County. Also the Nora corridor of north Indianapolis — roughly 75th to 96th Street between Keystone and Spring Mill. If your address is right on the edge of the service area, the booking page will confirm it.

How early do I need to book?

During peak season — May through August — six weeks out is the safe target. Inventory goes fast on popular move-out weekends, especially end-of-month. Outside peak season, two to three weeks is usually fine. The earlier the better regardless of timing; there's no penalty for booking ahead.

My closing date might shift. What do I do?

Contact Totes McGotes directly through the booking page as soon as you have a sense of the change — even if it's not confirmed yet. Real estate closings move all the time, and they're used to it. The earlier the heads-up, the more flexibility there is to adjust your delivery window.

I think I need more totes than I reserved. Can I add?

Possibly — contact Totes McGotes directly and ask about availability. During peak moving season it's not guaranteed, which is exactly why sizing up at the time of booking is the lower-stress move. Adding totes mid-rental depends on what's in inventory at that moment.

How are these different from the bins at the hardware store?

Hardware store bins are consumer-grade — designed for occasional use in a garage or closet. These totes are commercial-grade: consistent external dimensions so they stack uniformly in a moving truck, lids rated to hold weight without flexing, and walls built to survive hundreds of rental cycles. The difference is meaningful on moving day when you're loading a truck and need things to stay where you put them.

Do I need to clean the totes before returning them?

Empty them out and make sure there's no food, liquid, or obvious debris inside. A reasonable standard — the same you'd apply to any rental. The totes go through a cleaning process between rentals regardless, so you don't need to scrub them.

Can I use the totes for storage instead of moving?
